On this Wednesday evening, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to embark on a significant diplomatic journey to Indonesia. This whirlwind 24-hour trip will conclude with his return to New Delhi on the evening of September 7.
The invitation for this visit comes from Indonesian President Joko Widodo and serves as a prelude to India’s hosting of the G20 Summit scheduled for September 9-10.
During his time in Jakarta on September 7, PM Modi is anticipated to participate in two important high-level summits: the 20th ASEAN-India Summit and the 18th East Asia Summit (EAS).
As a gesture of goodwill, Indonesia, the current chair of ASEAN, has adjusted the summit schedules to accommodate PM Modi’s early departure.
The theme of this year’s ASEAN Summit is “ASEAN Matters: Epicentrum of Growth,” reflecting Indonesia’s vision for the bloc as a pivotal center of economic development.
These meetings will also serve as a platform for India and its counterparts in Southeast Asia to assess their collective progress and chart paths for future collaboration, as reported by ANI.
